'Is there any hope of reform'? This is an age-old question. Some things have improved over time, for example, health and life expectancy in the West. Slavery is illegal. Other things have got worse: social isolation, surveillance, lack of community. I do see a lot more awareness across political divides, thanks to alternative media on the internet.
